Bike Race

I think this vintage wall art poster is a good reminder that what you do can often leave more of a lasting impression than who you are.

In this vintage bicycle poster, the cyclist’s shadow is significantly larger than he is. This wall art print reminds us that what we do, how we act and how we treat others will be behaviours which are left behind for others to judge us on, long after we have moved on.

Display Everything

July 18, 2008

One of the best ways, I think, to start a unique and meaningful wall art collection is to just pick up everything which appeals to you, and then display it. It could be an interesting leaf or a unique advertisement. You can also keep ticket stubs from concerts or overseas trips, as well as posters from movies you’ve enjoyed or festivals you were a part of.

Plus this is an affordable way to start an art collection too!

Earthy Wall Art Decorating

May 28, 2008

Thundering water tumbles over layers of rock, dropping in three dynamic levels at Triple Falls. One of the most spectacular waterfalls in North Carolina, this beautiful closeup of sun sparkling on the water catches the motion and power in a dynamic photograph. ‘Triple Falls I’ is the perfect starting point for your earthy decorating theme. It shows how you can use the subtle shades of chocolate brown (in the rocks) with a deep green accent (from the bushes) as the basis of your colour palette.

Now take your cue from the rushing waterfall vying for your attention and add some creamy white colours to your decorating to add freshness and class.

Perfect Timing

May 13, 2008

This wall art painting reflects one of many moments Susanne Leasure is famous for portraying so well. Viewing this beach scene puts you on silky wet sand laced with tiny stones smoothed over by the ocean’s caressing waves. You can almost feel the occasional pebble between your toes. The same light that illuminates the incoming waves accents the jagged cliffs with glowing orange hues. Notice the water dripping from the cliffs, a residual spill of the last passing wave. Do you want to bring light, motion and mood into a room in a pleasant way? If so, then perhaps this is the perfect nautical seascape for your wall. You imagine careers such as doctors, pilots and racing drivers all require an excellent timing ability, however to be an artist seems to require the same skill. This painting, ‘Amber Waves’ shows this unique skill in the artist having captured the exact moment when the waves were illuminated by the setting sun and the rocks were reflecting the golden sunshine for the last time before the end of the day.

Or maybe being an artist is not about being in the right place at the right time, as much as it is about seeing things which others don’t notice. Picking out the beauty in any situation which we would normally walk right past until an artist captures it and points it out to us.

Pelican Art

February 13, 2008

The Pelican has always symbolized parental love or sacrifice and been made popular by many famous artists. These graceful birds depicted in these paintings by Paul Leasure at www.lovefineart.com captivate and refresh all the lively moods of the seaside ambience. Sometimes, you prefer the perfect glide of the bird over a wave, and at times you love to explore the playful wave trying to outdo the smart pelican at his sport. The exciting contrasts between the translucent blue water and the frothy white foam in these spectacular seascape paintings add a striking vibrancy and energy level to your surroundings and fetch us great wall art options. You simply get awestruck in the allure of the coastal scene, while getting inspired about living every moment of your day to its utmost promises and valiantly facing your dilemmas that come on and off like the tides.
